This hat was inspired by my general love of earflap hats and my constant desire to see what the Zoom Loom can do. Combining weaving with crochet is one of my favorite ways to mix fiber arts. Crochet tends to have a more solid and chunky texture, while weaving is more smooth and lightweight. Using them together creates a breathable wool hat with a ton of texture.
A square hat that looks round, this project transforms two-dimensional squares into a hat with volume and verve. Crocheted trim and a knitted brim finish the look.
