Weave twill on your rigid-heddle loom using two heddles, a pick-up stick, and a heddle rod for your setup. You’ll be entranced by this scarf with one side that shows off a twill and the other that highlights the luscious colors of the marled color-changing warp.
What is more fun than a fabric with two very different sides? This double-faced scarf in a 1/3 twill emphasizes color on one side and the herringbone structure on the other. By adding a second heddle to her setup, Nancy was able to increase the design potential of her loom. Adding a pick-up stick and string heddles increased it yet again. This setup takes the rigid-heddle loom up a notch and opens opportunities to explore weaves on affordable and portable equipment. Note: The second heddle in this setup is not used to increase the sett but is used for patterning.
