Several years ago, designer Eileen Lee was quite taken by a beautiful scarf in a Treenway Silks advertisement she saw in a copy of Handwoven. She cut out the ad and put it on a bulletin board in her studio as inspiration for a future project.
When she finally decided it was time to figure out that project, she tracked down a draft that looked similar on Handweaving.net, did some work with it in Fiberworks, and chose a set of bright springlike colors. Her homage to the Treenway Silks advertisment, named the Mosaic Tiles Scarf, was included in the Spring 2025 issue of Handwoven.
But Eileen‘s personal color preferences tend toward an autumnal palette, so that’s the version you see here. Please give one or the other a try!
